As COVID-19 continues to evolve, your decision to join our stem cell registry is essential to protecting our most vulnerable members
In response to COVID-19, group swabbing events across the country have been suspended. This suspension aligns with the guidance from the Public Health Agency of Canada to minimize the amount of time individuals spend in large crowds or in crowded spaces to reduce the transmission of COVID-19.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, there may be challenges with using international donors due to travel bans and the health of some donors. The logistics of international transplants is more difficult during these times. As a result, patients and transplant centres will be relying more on donors from Canada.
We are encouraging local donors between the ages of 17 and 35 to register to register online, from their homes, to get their swab kit delivered in the mail.
