Research or Clinical Interests
Dr. Pambrun is a hematological pathologist with a clinical focus in pediatric hematopathology and prenatal transfusion medicine.
She is also interested in medical leadership, quality assurance and undergraduate teaching. Dr. Pambrun represents Eastern Canada at the Royal College Hematological Pathology Subspecialty Committee.
Dr. Pambrun obtained both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education prior to entering medical school at the University of Calgary. Upon completion of her Doctor of Medicine degree, she completed a Royal College of Physician and Surgeon of Canada residency program in Hematological Pathology at the University of Alberta and the University of Ottawa.
After completing her training in 2012, Dr. Pambrun held the Medical Director of Hematopathology position at a tertiary care centre for women and children for five years. From 2012 to 2016, she was also an assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine, department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax. At Dalhousie University, she was the course coordinator for the Hematology course as well as an active member of the Undergraduate Medical Education Curriculum Committee. In 2016, she became a medical consultant for Canadian Blood Services. This position expanded into an associate medical director role with responsibilities in donor eligibility and the national immunohematology reference laboratory. In 2017, Dr. Pambrun became the director of Canadian Blood Services' Centre for Innovation.
Dr. Pambrun completed her MBA program in Fall 2017. She has pursued professional development in other areas including training as an AABB and IQMH assessor, CMA Leadership Training and ASCP Certification in Lab Management. Dr. Pambrun has been granted membership into the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) and was a recipient of the 2016 ASCP 40 under Forty, representing the only Canadian among the honorees.
