Brief biography
Dr. Chantale Pambrun, a Hematological Pathologist, currently serves as the Senior Medical Director overseeing the Innovation and Portfolio Management division at Canadian Blood Services, where she supports innovation through research, development, and knowledge mobilization activities.
Dr. Pambrun started her career with a clinical focus in Pediatric Hematopathology and Prenatal Transfusion Medicine as well as Medical Education. She previously represented Eastern Canada at the Royal College Hematological Pathology Subspecialty Committee and was the Medical Laboratory Director, including transfusion medicine service, at a tertiary care centre for women and children. She was previously involved in laboratory accreditation as an assessor for the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare and was also involved in standard development with the AABB and the Health Standards Organization. Dr. Pambrun has an MBA and Certified Health Executive credentials from Canadian College of Health Leaders. She received the 2016 American Society for Clinical Pathology 40 under Forty award, representing the only Canadian among the honorees. She previously served on the Stem Cell Network’s Research Management Committee and as the Board Vice-Chair for the Service Coordination for People with Development Disabilities. She supports Héma-Québec’s Scientific and Medical Advisory Committee and volunteers for NATO on transfusion-related matters.

Dr. Chantale Pambrun’s research interests include donor wellness, blood system surveillance and new product development.
