  • 70% of Canadians are eligible to donate blood, but only 4% do?
  • donated blood lasts no longer than 42 days, but most donations are used within 5 days?
  • the Regina Canadian Blood Services location requires over 1900 blood donation appointments to help meet patient need?

To reach this target, we rely on the generosity of blood donors, and the help of our local Regina high school students is especially crucial. We offer interested grade 11/12 students and staff the opportunity to learn more about how they can support the blood system by taking a leadership role in their school and community through volunteer opportunities. 

Volunteering with Canadian Blood Services can help a student

  • Develop their social media outreach and promotion skills
  • Access the network of a world respected national non-profit organization with staff who are open to help with career development
  • Develop public speaking and communication skills
  • Take on a leadership role within their school and community
  • Add practical experience and skills to their resume
  • Play a part in patients receiving life-saving blood products

We also offer schools a short virtual information session on Canadian Blood Services for students to learn the need for blood donation and the donation process. We need your help to promote this program to our local youth. We can provide you with social tiles, posters, and presentation slides to encourage participation in the Canadian Blood Services High School Program.
