My Journey

I used to always donate when I could. Then suddenly in late August 2022, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (bone marrow/blood cancer). I had my first bone marrow aspiration done on my 50th birthday. I've had to have several blood and platelet transfusions because of several nosebleeds due to chemotherapy. At times, I had both blood and platelet transfusions one right after the other because my numbers were always low.

Now, thankfully, I am in full remission for now, but I can no longer donate. Everyday now, I thank God for all of those that do donate, because if it weren't for them I probably wouldn't be here. So please, donate whenever you can. It really does save lives. Thank you.
