Honoring My Father Through Canada’s Lifeline

The donor centre always feels warm once I’m in the chair. Squeeze. Release.
Donating blood is a deeply personal vow. Years ago, when my dad underwent open-heart surgery, the overwhelming number of volunteers who stepped forward for him was deeply heartwarming. That selfless compassion gave our family so much strength.
Now, having recently completed my 51st donation, I know firsthand that a donor’s gift goes far beyond a single procedure. It lifts up families, strengthens communities, and gives people the chance to share in future milestone celebrations and everyday moments together.
Being part of Canada’s Lifeline is my way of honoring my dad and paying that kindness forward. It takes just one hour of my day to offer another family hope and precious time.
