RBC Genotyping Testing for RHCE and Extended Blood Groups

Test description

This is a PCR-based assay for the identification of multiple alleles encoding human erythrocyte antigens in genomic DNA. The IDCORE XTTM test identifies 29 genomic variants responsible for normal and altered expressions of human red cell antigens in the Rh, Kell, Kidd, Duffy, MNS, Diego, Dombrock, Colton, Cartwright, and Lutheran blood group systems. These tests are alternatives to serological testing in cases of discordant antigen phenotyping results, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, chronically transfused patients with previously identified antibodies, patients receiving treatment with anti-CD38, and patients with transfusion dependent diseases such as sickle cell disease and thalassemia.

Note: This test is not recommended for patients with a history of bone marrow (stem cell) transplant.
