Services

Diagnostic Services: Saskatchewan Centre

Canadian Blood Services provides screening of pregnant women for blood type and red cell antibodies to assist health care providers in ensuring appropriate management of a pregnancy for both the mother and baby in order to prevent Hemolytic Disease of Fetus and Newborn. Canadian Blood Services also provides transfusion medicine (pre-transfusion compatibility) services for a number of health care facilities that currently do not perform these tests. In addition, the Canadian Blood Services’ Laboratory provides serological investigation reference services and has access to rare cells and anti-sera that may be useful for identifying antibodies to high and low incidence antigens.
