Tags

Canadian Blood Services may apply tags to blood components that convey supplementary information regarding the blood component.

Two examples are listed below:

Red Blood Cells Washed Tags – see Customer Letter 2013-22 (PDF), Attachment 3 Information Tag with Accurate Volume (PDF), Attachment 4 Information Tag Indicating Extra Wash (PDF), Attachment 5 Information Tag with Accurate Volume and Extra Wash (PDF)

Autologous and Directed Donations – tags with additional intended recipient information are applied during the manufacturing process. A green tag is applied to autologous donations, and a pink tag is applied to directed donations.
