Label Adhesive
Blood Bag Base Label – Blood bags utilized by Canadian Blood Services for the collection and manufacturing of blood components may have a base label applied by the blood bag manufacturer. Canadian Blood Services only purchases blood bags from vendors that employ adhesives that comply with the CSA-Z902-10 standard and U.S. FDA 21 CFR 175.105.
Blood Component End Label and Donation Number Label Sets – During the collection and manufacturing process, Canadian Blood Services applies various labels to blood component bags. Donation number label sets are applied to blood bags as part of the collection process. An end label is applied to the front of the blood bag as part of the manufacturing release process, and may cover all or most of the base label. Label vendors are selected that can provide labels that comply with CSA-Z902-10 standards and U.S. FDA 21 CFR 175.105, and will remain attached to the blood bag during a variety of storage conditions.
