Five Workout Essentials
Wellness Wednesday: Five Workout Essentials
The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly disrupted life as we know it. With stores, restaurants, schools and fitness studios closing and many employees across our organization now working from home, most of us are dealing with unprecedented breaks in our regular routines.
New feelings of stress and uncertainty that may surface during this difficult time can make it hard for us to take care of our social, mental and emotional health – but it’s also a time where prioritizing self-care is vitally important.
That’s why starting this week, we’ll be sharing a new video with you every Wednesday, with tips, resources and challenges to help keep you well.
Video topics will range from home workouts to nutrition, mindfulness, connectivity, mental health and much more. We hope that each week, you’ll pick up at least one helpful strategy or piece of information that you can use and integrate into your daily routine.
The first wellness champion in our new series is Mary James Fisher, Corporate Brand and Reputation Manager, based in Ottawa. In addition to her busy day-to-day role protecting and bringing our corporate brand to life, Mary James is also a personal trainer and nutrition and wellness coach and holds a master’s degree in recreation.
In this week’s Wellness Wednesday video, Mary James shares some practical tips for taking care of your physical health, covering the five essential components of every good workout:
Watch the video below to see Mary James demonstrate each exercise component and then challenge yourself to complete your own circuit!
Don’t forget – an important part of wellness is connectivity and community.
During this time, we encourage you to go on Yammer and connect with your team mates and other staff across the organization, using the hashtag #WellnessWednesday.
Share your own videos, photos or tips about what you’re doing to stay well while working from home – or bravely working on the frontlines – and help inspire and motivate others.
You can also email email@example.com with your ideas for future Wellness Wednesday videos.
