Who you can give blood to and receive blood from depends on your blood type. Check the chart below to see who you’re compatible with!

O Negative blood is used in emergency situations, where there is no time to test the patient to determine blood type – that’s why “O Neg” is always in such great demand

People with AB Positive blood are know as the “universal recipient”, as they can receive blood from anyone

Regardless of type, blood is always in high demand. In order to ensure there is an adequate supply of blood on hand for cancer patients, accident victims, transplant recipients and other people in need, we rely on donors of all blood types to give blood regularly.
