From Healthcare Worker to Blood Donor: A Three-Year Wait

Having worked in healthcare in India, I understand how important it is to help people in need. When I moved to Canada in 2023, I wanted to continue making a difference by donating blood.

However, I had to wait almost three years because of eligibility rules. It wasn’t easy to wait when I genuinely wanted to help, but I understood the importance of following the guidelines.

When I finally became eligible, I was happy to donate. I’ve now donated blood twice, and both experiences have motivated me to continue.

I believe blood donation is a simple yet powerful way to support others. You may never meet the person receiving your blood, but knowing you could help save someone’s life makes it worthwhile.

I hope my story encourages others to donate blood when eligible. Sometimes, a small act of kindness can make a life-changing difference.
