Video on N95 mask use now available
For the past week, we have been deploying our first shipment of N95 masks across the country. These masks will be available for employees and volunteers working on-site. Although their use is not mandatory, they are another option among our safety measures. In line with public health guidance, we have prioritized getting the masks out to on-site staff and volunteers as soon as possible. N95 mask fit testing will not be part of our implementation process at this time.
We will continue to assess public health guidance on the use of N95s in different settings as PPE requirements continue to evolve. To help employees feel confident and comfortable wearing their N95 masks, we recently recorded an N95 guidance session on how to put on, wear and remove the mask. Watch the guidance video here and check out other mask resources and FAQs on our PPE page.
New blog from our CEO answers your outstanding townhall questions
On Jan. 12 we held our 21st live townhall since the pandemic began, and received 46 questions from across the organization around various themes. An hour isn’t nearly long enough to get to every single employee-submitted question, so Graham decided to provide responses to the most popular or time-sensitive questions in his latest Snapshots blog post. If you have questions for Graham, you can submit them to communications@blood.ca with the subject line: TOWNHALL for the next townhall on Wednesday, Feb. 9.
Partners for Life program connects RBC employees across Canada
Every year, thousands of blood donors take part in group donations as part of the Partners for Life program. RBC Royal Bank employees support this initiative by gathering colleagues in their communities to donate blood as a team to support Canada’s Lifeline. RBC employee Amanda Moore is a third-generation blood donor who leads the blood donation campaign across the country. She inspires many of her colleagues at RBC to become blood donors as well. Read more on blood.ca about Amanda and her colleagues who, in 2021, surpassed their nationwide goal of 1,000 donations.
Question of the day: Where can I find the latest information on mask guidance, especially with the recent changes with N95 masks being available to employees working on-site?
As we move through this latest wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are aware that the regularly changing guidelines and safety information can be confusing.
Our organization continues to follow public health guidelines and our own COVID-19 team reviews and updates information for all employees as soon as we make any changes.
We ensure that the most current COVID-19 information is on the employee portal. You can go directly to the PPE page to find an overview and a comprehensive list of questions and answers that can help you know and understand the latest information.
