Daily COVID-19 digest
An important video message from our CEO: Today, Dr. Graham Sher recorded a video for staff with some important information before we all head into the long weekend. In addition to reflecting on the incredible work over the past few weeks, he provides details about the upcoming live townhall and offers some personal insights around why what we do matters now more than ever.
Save the date: Next Wednesday, April 15 at 1 p.m. ET our CEO will be hosting a live Q&A with staff. You will be receiving an Outlook invite shortly with information on how to participate. Please give some thought to what information you would like to hear. We encourage you to ask your questions live, however, should you wish to submit a question in advance, you can send them to communications@blood.ca with the title “TOWNHALL”.
Companies supporting our frontline: This week, two of our corporate partners showed some love for our frontline. KIND delivered 10,000 bars to collections and donor relations employees at 35 permanent and mobile events and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory delivered Easter chocolates and baskets to 11 permanent sites. At a time when the Easter bunny may be a little preoccupied, their gratitude and support are appreciated.
A note from your communications team: During normal circumstances, we would embrace this time of the year to spend with our extended family and friends. Although our traditions may look a little different, we hope that you find a way to connect with your loved ones in your home and pick up the phone to connect with others who are not. Know that even during the holidays, we are here to support you. Most questions can be answered by going to blood.ca/employees, including how to access services like our employee assistance program to support your physical and mental health. Please stay safe, take care of yourselves and your families.
