Get to know our new board members
Late last year, we announced the names of the four new members appointed to Canadian Blood Services’ board of directors by the provincial and territorial ministers of health: Dr. Brian Postl, Donnie Wing, David Morhart and Bobby Kwon. To help employees get to know each new member as they get acquainted with their roles, we’ve shared get-to-know-you videos on blood.ca. Learn more about the evolving composition of our board of directors and these members’ reasons for joining Canada’s Lifeline.
Share your feedback through our employee experience and brand health surveys
On Monday, we launched our joint employee experience and brand health survey. You should have received an email from our CEO, Dr. Graham Sher, with an individualized link to take you directly to the two-part survey. If you haven’t received it, please check your junk folder or email employee.surveys@blood.ca. You can also find your link at blood.ca/employeesurvey. This is an opportunity for leaders to hear directly from employees in all roles and regions across the organization and better understand your thoughts and opinions. All employees who complete the surveys by Feb. 4 can enter a draw for a chance to win a Canadian Blood Services prize pack.
Question of the day: With the addition of our plasma centres and our plan to expand to 11 plasma centres in the upcoming few years, are there any plans to hire more employees on the back end of our business to help manage these new employees? Also, when are our new plasma sites opening?
Planning for the additional plasma centres included consultations with directors from impacted divisions and it was discussed with our executive management team. We identified where resources would be required and at what point in time they would be needed. Some positions have already been filled with others coming later as the planning progresses with the program.
New plasma sites for Ottawa and Brampton are currently tracking toward a spring 2022 opening. Planning continues for the additional sites with the intent to have all sites in operation by 2024.
