COVID-19 leave supports end August 15
When the pandemic hit, the organization came together to support employees through the challenges associated with COVID-19. Among those supports were various paid leaves: Caregiver Leave, Quarantine Leave, and COVID-19 related sick leave. With the pandemic landscape changing, there has been a steady decline in the use of these benefits, therefore we will cease offering them to employees as of August 15, 2022. COVID-19 paid leaves may be re-instated in future depending upon circumstances. Details of the removal of COVID-19 leave supports and FAQs can be found on Connect. If you have any questions about the expiry of pandemic leaves, please reach out to email@example.com
REMINDER: Quality Mindset employee survey extended to August 19
You have just over a week to complete the quality mindset survey which will remain open until Friday, August 19 to give more employees the opportunity to participate. The results from this 10–15-minute, anonymous survey will provide valuable insight into what we are doing well to instill an understanding and drive for quality in all that we do and how we can do better. If you haven’t done so already, please click here to participate in the Quality Mindset employee survey.
Question of the day
I would like to propel my career forward at Canadian Blood Services, but I lack formal schooling and my work experience is limited to the duties I perform in my current role. How can the organization help me achieve my career goals?
We want to ensure that all employees succeed within our organization and are recognized for their skills and hard work. When considering a candidate for a position, many factors are reviewed, including years of service, current and previous work experience as well as education. The factors are dependent on the position requirements. Unionized roles must follow the collective agreement. For details on specific situations, please reach out to our manager, human resources services, firstname.lastname@example.org.
We fully support ongoing career development and encourage employees to explore the resources and opportunities available on our Development Resources page on Connect. There are many tools to help employees plan, kick-start and manage their own development. If you would like to speak with a Learning Specialist to unpack the internal development and career growth opportunities, please reach out to Abigail St. John on Teams to arrange a one-on-one conversation.
