We want your feedback: We want to know what you thought about yesterday’s live Q&A and our new townhall platform, Microsoft Teams Live. Please take a moment to fill out this short survey (one minute) so we can improve on your experience for the next event. The survey will remain open until Friday at 4 p.m. ET. Thank you again to all of you who participated — keep an eye out next week for details of our next live event with our CEO.
Stories from the frontlines: For so many of our employees, staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic is not an option. Today, we launched a new series of stories on blood.ca to recognize and celebrate the contributions of those frontline employees. It’s called “Canada’s Lifeline: Our frontline”. We encourage all of you to read these stories and share them with your family and friends. The first story is about Chris Peters, one of our registered nurses in Moncton. Stay tuned to blood.ca and our social media channels for many more stories in the weeks ahead.
Our first COVID-19 convalescent plasma donation: We are excited to share that today we will collect our first convalescent plasma donation in Vancouver. Jerry Glubisz says he is delighted to help out the cause, “I’m pleased my unfortunate situation can help somebody else. I think I’m doing a little bit of good out of all this.” Over the next few weeks more convalescent plasma donors like Jerry may donate at one of 11 Canadian Blood Services donor centres that have the capability to collect donations by apheresis. Keep an eye out in tomorrow’s digest for video footage of Jerry’s historic donation.
Wellness Wednesday — Serenity in sunflowers: Many of us begin gardening to improve the aesthetic appeal of our property, to have fresh herbs or veggies at their disposal, or to simply have a green thumb they want to put to good use. There is something so appealing about planting a seed and watching it grow — however, we often don’t think of gardening as an activity that can directly impact and improve our mental health and well-being. In this week’s video, Monique Sosa, writer, marketing content and brand ambassador gives us a peek into her annual family gardening ritual — growing giant sunflowers. This year more than ever, Monique is turning to her love for gardening for its wellness benefits and hopes to inspire others to start planting their own seeds of positivity this spring.
