Summary of Blood and Blood Components Available from Canadian Blood Services

  • SAGM Red Blood Cells, Leukocytes Reduced (LR) (most of our normal RBC demand will be met with this component by December 2008)
  • AS-3 Red Blood Cells, Leukocytes Reduced by Filtration
  • Red Blood Cells, Deglycerolized, Leukocytes Reduced by Filtration
  • Red Blood Cells Washed, Leukocytes Reduced by Filtration
  • Pooled Platelets, Leukocytes Reduced by Filtration
  • Platelets Apheresis, Leukocytes Reduced
  • CP2D Platelets, Leukocytes Reduced by Filtration (intended for pediatric patients)
  • Frozen Plasma
  • Fresh Frozen Plasma, Apheresis
  • Cryoprecipitate
  • Cryosupernatant Plasma
  • Whole Blood, Leukocytes Reduced by Filtration (not routinely produced)
