A career at Canadian Blood Services offers a world of opportunities including:

Career growth and success

Our performance management process allows employees an opportunity to chart their futures and receive feedback and support on a continuous basis. The benefit of the Performance Management Program is that it is national in scope and provides a standard process to ensure that everyone's efforts are focused on achieving organizational priorities.

A learning environment

Our staff are actively encouraged to gain new skills through career development opportunities such as training, project work and on-going mentoring. At Canadian Blood Services, new job opportunities are posted on our Intranet and Internet sites and employees are encouraged to investigate these opportunities.

Open communication

Canadian Blood Services employees have comprehensive knowledge regarding blood products and services. Employees are kept informed about our changing environment through regular communiqués. Our internal publication "Taking Pulse" keeps employees abreast of news, events and blood facts. Frequently asked information, such as policy and reference materials can be accessed through our Intranet site, which also provides various feedback mechanisms. Important events or news items are also sent to staff in frequent e-mail updates. For staff without PC access at work (some lab and clinic staff, etc.) we have provided InfoStations for staff to access the Internet and the Canadian Blood Services Intranet Web site.

A rewarding, innovative and community-conscious environment

Canadian Blood Services is a rewarding, innovative and community-conscious organization. Canadian Blood Services is responsible for strategically leveraging the goals of Canada's blood system and our expert staff is versatile and driven by challenges. We are involved in groundbreaking research in transfusion science and other research initiatives. All Canadian Blood Services locations are involved in the communities that they serve through donor clinics, community events and public service endeavours.
