Ricoh Canada Supports Canadian Blood Services

Ricoh Canada’s relationship with Canadian Blood Services began back in 2008 when the organization became a new Ricoh client in Ottawa. As this relationship grew, Ricoh Canada quickly realized that Canadian Blood Services’ mission to save and improve lives closely aligned to Ricoh Canada’s own corporate commitment to contribute and support local communities.

In 2011 Ricoh Canada became a Partner for Life with Canadian Blood Services. This partnership has led Ricoh Canada to strive to make an even greater difference to those in need of blood products. This year, Ricoh Canada’s goal is 200 donations of blood.

Over the years, Ricoh Canada’s support of Canadian Blood Services has become a national initiative. Ricoh branches from coast to coast host an array of blood donation events to encourage employees to roll up their sleeves and become regular blood donors. Many Ricoh Canada blood donation activities also encourage employees to come together and celebrate making a difference to others as a team.

One example of this effort was a ‘What’s your type?’ event held in October 2012 at the Ricoh head office. The event not only celebrated Halloween, it also encouraged employees to find out their blood type. Fully costumed Ricoh employees gathered together to discover their blood type and sign up to donate blood at the next Canadian Blood Services’ clinic.

These fun and informative activities encourage a growing number of Ricoh employees to give blood on a regular basis at Canadian Blood Services’ clinics.
